Arts Management & Technology Laboratory | Website Designer
Pittsburgh, PA | January 2019 - Present
A research center of Carnegie Mellon University, the Arts Management and Technology Laboratory is an online publication focused on the intersection of arts, management, and technology. Since January, I have been leading a platform re-design to improve UX and increase readership. From January to May, I worked with publication staff to establish long-term goals and created two prototypes emphasizing brand identity, accessibility, and template flexibility. Next steps include A/B testing, cleaning metadata, and a full build out of the new site, expected to go live in September 2019.
Carnegie Museum of Natural History | Exhibitions Assistant
Pittsburgh, PA | February 2019 - May 2019
I created a database of all objects and specimens in the museum's collection to better facilitate collaboration between the Exhibition Design, Conservation, and Curatorial Departments. This involved a lot of attention to detail and pictures of dead bugs, and I mean a lot - did you know there are about 13 million in the museum’s collection?
Carnegie Museum of Natural History | Exhibition Evaluator
Pittsburgh, PA | May 2018 - August 2018
I was 1 of 2 researchers who evaluated We Are Nature: Living in the Anthropocene. This exhibit was the one of the nation’s first exhibitions on the subject, and was curated in-house. My colleague and I produced an 80-page full-color report in summation of an audience segmentation analysis, heat-map study, and transcription of over 5,000 Post-it’s written by patrons to understand how the exhibit engaged visitors and gain psychographic insights into their individual relationships with the subject matter.
Amazing Yoga | Studio Assistant
Pittsburgh, PA | July 2018 - Present
I’m a key holder who helps with daily tasks to keep the studio running. I’d like to say it’s glamorous, but in reality this ‘zen’ work involves a lot of customer service and cleaning. But, this is a happy place for me and in the near future I plan on completing RYT 200 Teacher Training.
Future Tenant Gallery | Facilities Manager
Pittsburgh, PA | September 2017 - April 2018
Along with seven other CMU graduate students, I managed the day-to-day operations of a non-profit gallery and performance space in downtown Pittsburgh. As Facilities Manager, I was a “jack of all trades” that assisted in curating and installing artwork, maintaining gallery supply inventories, and helping to plan and execute events, such as Galley Crawl Stops, fundraisers, and opening receptions.
Galerie d’Orsay | Graphic Designer & Operations Assistant
Boston, MA | March 2016 - July 2017
While living in Boston, I designed digital and print marketing materials for a gallery specializing in Old Master Prints and contemporary painters. These materials included postcards, exhibition catalogs, and advertisements. I was also personally responsible for updating and maintaining the gallery’s website and social media content for over 1,000 followers. In addition to design, I assisted in managing the gallery’s inventory of 500+ artworks and preparing financial documents. I was the first point of contact for all communication with living artists and coordinated their international shipping and receiving processes.
Kathy Buist Studios | Artist Assistant
Asbury Park, NJ | September 2016 - July 2017
As Buist’s assistant, I managed her inventory of 200+ paintings and facilitated their national distribution from Boston to California. I assisted her with prep-work and artwork maintenance, which included underpainting, installing wiring and hanging hardware, painting touch-ups, and gesso. The size of her work ranged from small, intimate paintings to larger-scale works as tall as 10 feet.
Free People/URBN Inc. | Assistant Store Manager
Cambridge, MA | September 2014 - March 2016
I oversaw all operational and visual aspects of a retail store that grossed $800,000 annually. For this hippie-chic boutique, I worked with corporate management to organize quarterly and yearly budgets, track payroll spending, recruit and train new talent, and complete bi-monthly store merchandising and product transfers. I led a team of 12 and had the opportunity to work with some of the most genuine, hardworking, and funny women I’ve ever met; some are still my closest friends to this day.
